Lee Jenny was born in Busan, South Korea in 1972 and studied social work at Kyungnam University. After 15 years of submitting poems, she debuted with her poem “Peru” in 2008. She has since published four poetry collections not yet translated into any language: Maybe Africa (Changbi Publishers, 2010), Because We Don’t Know Ourselves (Moonji Publishing Co., 2014), A Sentence That Doesn’t Even Exist is Beautiful (HDMH Books, 2019), and What I Thus Scribbled (Moonji Publishing Co., 2019). Lee won the 2011 Pyeon-un Literature Award and the 2016 Kim Hyeon Prize. She currently resides in Geoje Island and is a member of the experimental text collective ‘Ru’ with seven other South Korean writers.
