In a fluttering of the eyes
in the dark of the day
your mouth pressed unexpectedly
to my mouth
and I was swallowed cleanly
in the twilight world of your kiss.
In a fluttering of the mouth
in the eyes’ discourse
growing and tightening
until there was nothing there
but the shadow of the mirror between,
a loveblock in the dark of your ear.
I’m silent now,
the webbed tresses of your words
lying close to the polished floor
and me sweeping them, scattering them
to the mouth of the door,
a small gust of wind outside.
