We are seeking a new trustee with a financial background who understands the challenges of working in a small arts organisation, and can support us with their skills and experience to ensure we are financially sustainable and efficient. This is a great role for someone who would like to make a difference at a historic organisation that continues to work to support artistic exchange and international cultural dialogue. An interest in poetry would be desirable but not essential. The Board meets on average 3-4 times a year, with an Away Day taking place each autumn.
Role Summary
- Support the organization by monitoring the financial standing of the charity and financial reports and maintain oversight of the overarching strategic management of the organisation’s financial resources
- Maintain oversight of the charity’s financial risk-management process and annual accounts
- Support the experienced finance manager on financial issues and ensure that the organisation’s finances are responsibly managed/invested for the betterment of the organization’s work and for the beneficiaries it serves
